It feels like I haven't updated in ages. Ella had a ear infection last week & since the weather has heated up (YAY) things have gotten very very busy.
Oscar, Ella and I had our first dip of the season in the pool at the clubhouse yesterday, still a bit cold for my liking but the kids loved it. I'll take all three of them tomorrow and grab some pictures. Rich's birthday is at the end of June so I've booked one of the banquet rooms at the clubhouse. School ends for the summer and end of school year the day after his birthday and unfortunately there is a mass exodus. The only date left available for the room was the day after school finishes so I'm hoping that there will at least be a few people who stick around. Things are sooooo much easier when you have a backyard!!! This years theme is, can you guess, 'LEGO'. Lol, an expensive party me thinks... Got a few great ideas though :) Oh & loving the whole children been toilet trained thing, for the most part anyway. No accidents in ages! Even though we've been busy it doesn't actually feel like we've done a whole lot but here are a few, ok more than a few, photos of the last couple of weeks. Between toilet training & everyone being sick we haven't done a whole lot. Mothers day was a very quiet affair but Mark got the kids to help start my mothers day journal that they'll write in every year. It was a idea I saw on Facebook and thought it was great. I've added to it but are really happy with the whole idea :)
Rich got *TWO* star of the week awards from school!!!!
Kinda sucky though as he came home sick on Friday at lunch time so didn't get to go up and get the awards in front of the whole school in assembly on friday afternoon. The poor monkey hasn't been feeling great all weekend. It was a extra long weekend here too with public holidays Monday & Tuesday. He pretty much only started to feel better yesterday afternoon. One of the certificates was was from his normal class teacher, the other was for his Art class. Form his normal teacher, Miss Matos, he got the award for:
From his art teacher the reason he got the award:
Well done Rich! x Yep, I'm so not a fan of toilet training. We're doing well with number 1's but not so great with number 2's... ewwwwww!!! Just so I'll know where to find them here's a few things I've tried so far. A story called 'Poo goes home to Pooland' & 'Everyone Poops' animation... the things we do... I've been talking to Oski about wearing big boy undies and 'using the toilet like Ella does' for a few days trying to hype him up and was going to start the whole toilet training thing next week but this morning he decided he was ready so on went Thomas the tank engine undies and he's been doing brilliantly!!!!!
No huge messy accidents (yet) YAY!!!!!!!!! It just means we be home for the next few days I think... We ended up having a fairly busy day. It was a semi public holiday yesterday (I say semi as some of the schools seemed to be open & most of the businesses were too) so Rich didn't have school. Thursday mornings I usually take Oscar & Ella to the trampoline cafe down the road and a few other mums do the same so it's sort of like a play group for the kids. Yesterday Rich came too and as there was no school a few of his school friends turned up at the same time.
As we were out I thought we might as well meet up with Mark for lunch which was nice. Now Oscar & Ella aren't napping during the day its a little easier taking them out for lunch as they don't get quite so cranky. After lunch we came home and the kids had some blob time in front of the TV then we walked down the road so Rich could get his hair cut & I could pick up some coloured contact for the 'dolls house' I made out of a couple of boxes stuck together :) After dinner Mark & the kids conducted a few experiments using magnets and steel ball bearings it was actually pretty cool watching the ball bearings shoot along the tracks. Then Rich enjoyed taking the egg timer I'd brought as the timer for the naughty step further apart, it arrived and didn't work so Mark pulled it apart to fix it but it was toast. Rich described his playing with it as 'engineering' :) |
Hope this isn't to boring!A little bit of our daily lives. Archives
